Afternoon Tea in London: A List of Hotels

Afternoon Tea at Harrods is very expensive, their luxurious Georgian Restaurant is on the fourth floor.Since Edwardian times, the Georgian Restaurant has been one of the most refined places in London to take afternoon tea. In years gone by an afternoon visit to Harrods was not a mere shopping trip but a social highlight. Under the splendor of the original 1929 Art Nouveau skylight and elegant carved plaster ceilings, Victor Silvester and his orchestra once played while the aristocracy dined. Now you can experience the high life with an indulgent english high tea for two in these luxurious surroundings. The traditional afternoon tea in London menu comprises freshly cut sandwiches, home baked raisin scones and a selection of tea pastries from the famous Harrods Patisserie - all served with a tea of your choice. The experience is for two people and will last for around one and a half hours but a trip to Harrods is an experience in itself, make sure you leave time to wander round the magnificent shop.
Afternoon Tea at Liberty Regent Street

For one of the best Afternoon Teas in London, Liberty's little tearoom, tucked away behind fashion accessories, is a pleasing spot, decked out in Designers Guild fabrics and a selection of newspapers for your perusal.Liberty's is definitely my favorite of the older stores in London, I always felt like I was in someone's house, it was so cozy! It is a beautiful Tudor style building, so old a lot of the floors slope! It is a fantastic store and a do-not-miss if you are in London for shopping. (Whether you can afford to buy anything is another thing!) Their afternoon tea is a lot cheaper than Harrods, and I used to like it a lot better. Traditional silver teapots and and an eclectic style make this the perfect place to put up your feet after a hard day's shopping.... (Well, for me it was a hard day's work!) Choose from 10 different loose leaf brews for afternoon tea or warmed scones with Cornish clotted cream and home-made jam. Drop in for soup of the day or a healthy breakfast of granola and berries.
