A Divorce Party Can Show Your Friend You Care!

A Divorce Party! What a great idea!

The day of the divorce has come, your friend has let herself go and feels hopeless. She's depressed, she'll never find another man at her age and with three kids ...you know the picture.

I see many women like this, they need a hug - and definitely not from a man (just yet!) She needs to have a few laughs and re-establish her neglected friendships. She needs your help... throw a Divorce Party!

Divorce Party

Cheer Her Up With A Divorce Tea Party!

Do not - whatever you do - invite any mutual friends of the husband/wife. It is bound to make for some very awkward moments and later repercussions. If someone is depressed, alcohol is probably the worst thing you can offer. An afternoon tea can be a civilized and refreshing affair, with clear conversation and you could even play some games and have some good clean fun. All too often Divorce Party's end in tears because of the alcohol and the stupidity that can ensue.

What's her favorite cake? Make one! What are her favorite flowers? Buy some! Everyone give her a little gift, and have plenty of Kleenex handy. Make her realize she is a person in her own right, not just a half of a couple. All too often women lose their own identities within a marriage - they become half-people.

Definitely make her dress in her best if she is depressed, put it on your invitation. It's amazing what a new dress, a manicure and a facial will do for a woman's flagging psyche. Compliment her, tell her she looks great! So many husbands fail to say nice things after a few years of marriage. HE took her for granted, YOU don't.

If you are holding the tea party inside, and you have an open fireplace, have her bring photos, and stuff that belonged to the ex - and let it burn baby!

Make it a Royal Tea Party and throw in a glass of champagne - but not too much! Toast those smoldering memories with some bubbly and a huge slice of chocolate cake.

Tell her it is not the end, it is a new beginning.

Help her to say goodbye to the old and celebrate a new life with her good friends at her side to help.
