Afternoon Tea Party Menu for August

Tea Party Menu for August - It's hot in August just about anywhere you go in the Northern hemisphere, so light fare is best for these sultry days. If you are planning an outside tea party in the garden, always ensure you have enough shade for your guests.

Many people still won't drink hot tea on a hot day, even though it does cool you down, so offer a pitcher of iced herbal or fruit tea and a pitcher of iced water.

This is light fare, with the absence of chocolate, which could get messy in the heat! If you are going to be indoors, add some chocolate cookies in with the assortment.

Adagio Teas Iced Fruit Medley or Fruit Sangria

I tried this the other day and I want more! It is delicious and fruity and absolutely a must for an afternoon tea party on a hot day!

Fruit Medley or Fruit Sangria is a delicious blend of natural fruits and spices that brews up a mouthwatering cup of herbal tea. Entirely caffeine free. It holds a special appeal for kids and sweet-toothed adults, yet contains no sugar or other sweeteners. The flavor is all natural, emanating from a mix of raspberry, strawberry, hibiscus flowers, blackberry, apples, rose hips, elderberry and bilberry. Highly addictive!

(Punch refers to a mix of a variety of beverages - soft drinks, juices, alcohol, and other additions. Punch actually derives from the Hindi term, panch, which means five - as many early punches were made from five ingredients (tea being one of them). In later times, both the British and Jamaicans - woyoy! - stirred it up a bit by adding brandy and rum. Whether spiked or virgin, a fruit punch made with Adagio's Fruit Medley tea makes a great centerpiece at your next gathering.)

Adagio Teas

Adagio's Earl Grey Bravo

Earl Grey Bravo, or Aristocrat Earl Grey is premium black tea from Sri Lanka (Ceylon), flavored with oil of bergamot, a citrus fruit.

According to legend, this tea is named for Earl Grey, a British Prime Minister, to whom a Chinese noble entrusted its secret recipe for saving his life. Unfortunately, this story is not true. But that will not prevent you from enjoying Adagio's exquisite 'Bravo' version of the popular Earl Grey tea.

The perfect afternoon tea party menu for August, to cool off. Serve with a lemon slice.
